Hi! My name is Mae Tol (they/them). I’ve always been fascinated by how our brains work and the behaviour that follows. It was only logical that I decided to start studying psychology. I’ve obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Neuropsychology, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing.
After my studies, I worked as a journalist and editor-in-chief, but I found myself continuously being drawn back into topics relating to psychology. I therefore decided to start my own practice, where I focus on being human instead of the label, and where collaboration between me as psychologist and you as the client is central to the approach. You know you the best, I bring along my expertise to help you get to where you want to be.
Depending on your request, we will put together a treatment plan together. Do you prefer to plan a set amount of sessions ahead or not? Do you have a preference for a certain method? All this will be of influence in how the treatment will come together.
I draw from a variety of acknowledged methods of therapy, depending on what I expect to be most helpful for you, including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, positive psychology, and mindfulness. Because I believe in the power of an individual approach, you are free to let me know during the treatment what does and does not work for you.
